The Multi-Annual Clothes Sort

Autumn is here...
at least that what the cover of my Martha Stewart magazine portrays.  So I'm slowly switching out bins of clothes.  Storing some, hanging some, folding some.  It's become a file cabinet type of storage in my basement.  It's so hard to determine what size goes where.  He can wear a 6 month top but in length 18 month.

I'm so lucky to have a helper.

Ummm...
Why does he feel so stressed when his only job is to unload the clothes?!?

Random Shout-Out

Country Stuff

We spent the day in Winamac & Calan came home with stories to tell.

He rode a horse.

He took advice.

And gave advice.

Went bear hunting.

Picked Andrew's nose.

Then made him eat it.

Watched the Daddies jump into the river.

Went in the pool.

Splashed everyone.

Then called it a day.

Hair Cut

I think someone might need a little trim.

walkless

It's so funny to see this little nugget of a body -still unable to walk- standing in the middle of a room.  He'll just crawl over to a toy and stand while playing.

Baby Model

Look who made it on the wall (again) at the Picture People in the mall.  I should start charging for the use of his face.

Does Sam's sell this by the case?

There is a spot on my kitchen counter that has been unofficially dedicated to broken fixed items.  They sit on the corner waiting for the super glue (gel is by far my favorite) to dry before returning to their not so safe spot.  I wasn't even aware until recently that you could get the lid off of super glue once using it.  I thought that it became a permanent fixture to the tube and it was game over.  But now I see that if you are using it on a day to day basis the only problem you'll have is that there isn't enough to get you through the week.

Double T's

We went out with friends for BBQ this weekend & Calan was anything but shy.  He ate 4 pieces of mac & cheese which is quite the stretch for him!  He also passed out some high-fives & tried on Lucus's hat.  If you look closely -his teeth are showing through his gums- ouchers!

no passport needed

In the mornings Cito usually gets up about and hour before we do.  Cody or I will just put him on the floor and let him do whatever it is that babies do.  We have gates on the stairs so he has free reign of the entire upstairs.  We do take the toilet paper off of the roll before we go to bed and put the plant that sits in our bathroom inside the tub so that these incidents do not happen again.

He has been sitting behind our curtains and apparently has started to tunnel his way out.  Not in one spot but two!  Just recently friends informed us that he may be going to China. Hmm.

TODAY a toddler is born

I went into labor July 31 last year and just a few days later I was holding our BEAUTIFUL baby.  I can't imagine our lives without him but have difficulty believing that it was just a year ago we met.  I've been behind on keeping his baby book up to date but because of the wonders of iPhoto -and the fact that I take pictures on an almost daily basis- everything has been stored away by date.

I spent a few hours today going through neatly organized folders and writing some of the hundreds of Calan's firsts in his baby book... first roll over... first vacation... first food... first time in the BIG bath tub... first time sleeping in his own room... first step (which has been sort of an inside joke around here - I've been telling everyone not to let go of his hand unless the camera is rolling AND the house is picked up AND he's dressed cute).

BUT this weekend at my family reunion Amber let go of his hand & 3 steps just appeared.  She apologized for stealing such a monumental moment but the damage had been done.  Please feel free to send her a little hate mail  http://www.facebook.com/arinard?ref=sgm No seriously, you should probably make it known that this is not something that can be replaced :)

I also pulled over 300 pictures to be printed and put into his scrap book.  It's weird to think that SO many of his firsts are over -I mean besides GETTING TEETH or NEEDING A HAIR CUT or EATING FOOD (with texture).  Those may not even happen until he's at least 6 or 7 -right?  Cody & I joke daily about our developmentally delayed baby toddler but we think he's going to turn out just fine.  Who really cares if he's 9 and still eats formula.  At least he's happy and healthy and will have something to tell his therapist.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL TODDLER BOY!
