Great Grandpa Rans

Cody's Grandpa passed away yesterday.  We were able to spend some time with him last month. He really loved Camille and she wouldn't even sit on his lap. Kids are fickle pickles you know.

In October he got to hold her for about 6 seconds but then she cried and Daddy had to rescue her.

This is the Race Car

 Laughing & smiling because it's only his family around.

(He doesn't really like too many other people. He just tolerates them as long as they keep their distance & don't look him in the eye.)

 He was then bending backwards trying to show off. 

He thinks he's pretty funny sometimes.

I Found This

In the playroom. 

The kids always ask Cody to draw a cow.

This is his cow.

It is always exactly the same.

We Joined the Club

I've been seeing this food coloring milk thing all over the internet. 

So this morning Cit and I tried it before the other two woke up.

 Milk & Food Color in a bowl.

Touch it with Dish Soap to break the surface tension.

 Swirls.

It's No Laughing Matter

 Monday night Cody worked until 8 p.m.  We meet him at Playland until they closed at 9 then went to a park. We were there until about 10 when Calan, Lola & I were racing each other on the sidewalk his shoe caught on the cement and he fell onto his face. He wasn't even able to catch himself with his hands. They, too, have scrapes on the back of them.

Case took 2 steps the day after his Birthday!

Birthday Boy

Yesterday Case turned 1. 
Yes, that is his happy face.

He tried to touch the candle.

He had flax seeds still on his face from lunch.

He had his big brother help blow out the candle.

He had friends stop by.
He got a card in the mail.

Two different people made him cakes.

He got a text.

He even got a post on Facebook.

That's a lot of love for a little babe.

It's Been Some Time

Since my last post.
And, of course, there are only a million things that have happened.
My computer is really slow because I have trillions of pictures on it that I need to take care of.
Last night Daddy taught Cit how to do headstands against a wall in our bedroom.
The two little kids were asleep so Cit had private lessons.
Cody is actually really good at standing on his head.
I'm not sure that I knew this about him.
He doesn't even use the wall.
Jaycee dressed up our Pretty Princess this past weekend.
Glad to have Calan back.
Getting ready for a couple of birthdays.
Don't really ever feel caught-up.
Maybe I need a personal assistant.

Cake Baking

Calan & I made a cake.

It was then bath time & bed time for the two little ones.

Cody, Calan & I came downstairs after they were in bed to eat a piece. 

Cit finished his before we did & asked for another. 

We said, "No more."

He got down.

Walked into the kitchen.

And grabbed a handful off of the entire cake and ate it.

It's Over

 I think.

We are undecorated.

Back from vacation. 

 Most of our gifts have been given.

We are back to work.

Back to church.

& back to appointments & crayons.

We had a really great time in Evansville & Gatlinburg. 

 On the way down it was a 6 hour drive to Evansville.

A 6 hour drive to Tennessee.

Then a 9 hour drive back home.

(These are just driving times not actual trip times.)

 There was no way we were stopping when the kids were asleep so we drank from sippie cups and ate Christmas cookies that Ben & Courtney gave us.

 The weather was ridiculously nice and we went to a playground with Hilary a few times while we were at the cabin.

 Case cozied up to whoever was a willing holder.

 Christmas dinner went on for miles.

 Cit poked at his.

 Camille ate all of hers.

The little kids decorated cookies for Santa.

 Camille loved eating them.

 Therisa & Calan tasted Santa's milk.

We also went to an aquarium while we were down there.

 There was a diver in the tank feeding and every time he would swim by us Calan would lick the glass.

This is just about 1/2 of the people that stayed at the cabin.
