Batman

It all started out when Calan asked to look at bat pictures on Google Images.
This is his go to site for every question.
When he saw this picture he was super concerned that it was daytime and the bats were awake.
I told him it was because the camera had a flash and woke them up.
So, once Daddy came home from work (he's on 6 hour days now with a helper) he took all of the kids upstairs to see if they could find a bat in our attic. We always have had bats in the attic so it was a pretty for sure guarantee that they would see one.
All thrEE BIG KIDS (thanks Case for turning on caps lock) helped carry the ladder upstairs.
There was a bat directly above the attic door.
Perfect for studying.
Camille and Calan were both lifted up to see it.
Camille said that she couldn't see it.
There was no way that Race wanted to look at it.
Calan and Camille both tried to talk him into it.
NOPE.
He would not go up and see it.

Just Sitting Around

That's what I've been doing.
It looks a lot like this.
Not really.
We spend most of our time on the floor.
Playing ball.
Feeding babies.
Coco and Wrigs are both eating baby food now.
Cora cries between bites just like Case used to.
We can't keep up with her hunger.
Calan has become a professional Lego builder.
He spends hours a day at the table with his tub-o-legos.
He mostly builds vehicles.
Come to think of it...
he only builds vehicles.
The only help he ever needs is getting pieces apart.
The other day the kids were playing in the dust while I swept the stairs.
They were trying to catch it and wanted me to watch when they blew into it.
Thanks sun. Thanks for making my kids think that we live in filth.
Case helped decorate for Easter.
I also had the pleasure of cleaning cereal out of my shoe that was on top of the typewriter.
And cutting off the bite that was taken out of one pear.
These two can't ever stop smiling.
Cody has been getting a ton better.
We've been having real conversations again.
It's been over four months (as in almost five) of tension.
Him frustrated me too tired to fight back.
Things are headed the right way.
He hasn't been forgetting words like he was but he is still driving like a seventeen year old.
Wrigley has had no contact with any family since December.
Time to start thinking about "C" names if you ask me.

Grandma (& Mo) Joined Us

Grandma (& Mo) joined us for a Saturday morning build.
It was honestly the easiest one that we had ever been to.
A couple nails later and the race car was finished.
Easy-peasy.
Go figure.

It's been Crazy

Living with a tent set up in our dining room for a week now.  Cody and Calan set it up during nap time last week and it has been the place to be ever since. But now it has out worn its welcome and I'm taking it d-o-w-n. I guess I'll have to be the mean parent but that's life.

Just got Back

From one of Calan's favorite places.
The dentist.
This was his third time going and he loves it.
The hygienist said that he had no plaque or tartar to scrape off.
Everything looked perfect.

Crowing

We all went to find the crows tonight. Once found we covered our faces and rolled down the windows.  The kids kept crowing like the crows. It was so loud.
The ground was covered.
The trees and sky were full.

Gymnastics

Even though we couldn't afford to send Case to gymnastics he chose to practice anyway.

Wrigley was always his spotter.

Lax

I think that's just our parenting style.
I've always heard that the more kids you have the more relaxed you become about following the rules.
If this is true POOR COCO!
We started out as pretty relaxed parents so allowing a 3 year old to push a 4 month old as fast as he can around our dining room and kitchen in a cardboard box didn't seem like that bad of an idea.
I mean is it really that different than a stroller?
